How’s Edinburgh’s depth looking?
Here’s the current ScotRugby Chart:

The Sevens players aligned to the Edinburgh region are included because Richard Cockerill can still call on them in his capacity as Edinburgh coach. Academy players, however, are left out for the time being.
Stuart McInally is still on post-World Cup leave, while Nick Haining is unavailable for less salubrious reasons; he’s currently sitting on a two-week suspension.
All in all, Edinburgh have decent depth across the board, despite a few injuries. They have a nasty run of games coming up, however; it’s Bordeaux-Bègles, than Munster, then a double-header against Wasps – and then the 1872 Cup. Rotation is going to be key for Richard Cockerill over the next few weeks. Hamish Watson and McInally are the only players who have not yet returned to training; a few others aren’t quite match-fit yet, but should come back into contention during the coming weeks. McInally himself should be available for selection for the Munster game.
ScotRugby isn’t quite sure whether Murray Douglas and Ruan Steenkamp are still with Edinburgh (or if Steenkamp is match-fit anyway). It’s possible that they still have some time left on their short-term contracts, so could turn out against Bordeaux.
